Pioneering Drone Technology for Southeast Asia<\/h3>\n

Indonesia recently showcased its first-ever demonstration of multi-drone operations managed through an Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) platform. The event, held in South Jakarta on January 22\u201323, 2025, aimed to validate the use of UTM technology for safe and scalable drone operations. This initiative was part of the “Industrial Cooperation Programme in the Global South through Technology Transfer,” supported by Japan\u2019s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI).<\/p>\n

Terra Drone Corporation and its group company Unifly NV, two prominent companies in drone and UTM technology, collaborated to showcase the system\u2019s capabilities. Representatives from ASEAN countries, the Middle East, and over 120 stakeholders, including national aviation authorities and government officials, attended the event.<\/p>\n

Indonesia is rapidly emerging as a key market for drone applications in Southeast Asia. With vast agricultural land, significant oil and gas production, and inter-island logistics needs, the country requires advanced aerial management systems. A robust UTM platform is critical for unlocking drones’ potential in diverse sectors, including agriculture, logistics, and infrastructure inspection.<\/p>\n
